Nashville trumps Malvern, 41-12

NASHVILLE, Ark.— Nashville’s junior high football team extended its win streak to 64 in a row with a 41-12 win over Malvern.

Ty Gordon connected on 9 of 15 passes for 148 yards and two TDs, rushed for another and had two intercepti­ons on defense, taking one back for a 30-yard score.

Caiden Erwin hauled in a 24-yard strike from Gordon, and Austin Hanson added a 20-yard TD reception.

Keyshawn Stewart ran 16 yards to paydirt for the Scrappers, and Aiden Chapman scooted 11 yards for a TD.

Nashville ( 8- 0) hosts Arkadelphi­a at 7 p.m. next Thursday with the district title on the line.

Brahmas, Hornets tie

HOOKS, Texas—Paul Pewitt and Hooks ended in a standstill in the junior varsity contest, 18-18.

Benji Johnson scored first for the Hornets with his 22-yard run. Johnson finished with 68 yards rushing and 143 yards passing.

Kylie Bagby caught an 18-yard strike from Johnson.

TJ Rigsby scored for the Hornets on a 18-yard run, tying the game 18 all. Rigsby finished with 13 tackles for the Hooks defense.

The Hornets (0-8-1) travel to DeKalb on Thursday.

The Hooks 8th grade squad fell to Paul Pewitt at home in a tight contest, 16-12.

Xzavier Huey scored first for the Hornets with his 3-yard run. Lane Garrett followed with a 2-yard dive in the endzone of his own for Hooks.

The Hornets blanked Paul Pewitt in the 7th grade game, 20-0.

Matthew Hays scored twice for Hooks on runs of 9 and 65 yards. Logan Davis completed a 2-point conversion for the Hornets. Jayden Smith finished the scoring on the night for Hooks with his 24-yard scamper to the pylon.

The Hornets (4-2, 3-1) travel to DeKalb on Thursday with kickoff beginning at 4:30 p.m.

TMS blanks Greenville

GREENVILLE, Texas—The Tigers 8th grade A squad defeated Greenville, 28-14.

Brayson McHenry threw three touchdowns for Texas Middle School.

Taeshun Richardson caught two passes of 42 and 45 yards for the TMS.

Datrict Harris caught a 50-yard strike from McHenry.

Demarco Banks scored on a 30-yard scamper to the endzone.

The Tigers coaches highlighte­d the play of the defense and kicker Nathan Mennie.

Texas Middle School’s 8th grade B squad blanked Greenville on the road, 26-0.

Marcel Beaver began the scoring for the Tigers with his 48-yard score, followed by his 2-point conversion run.

Cavarion Carson scored twice for TMS on runs of 3 and 29 yards. Joseph Bailey ended the scoring in the route for the Tigers with his 12-yard run to the endzone.

The Tigers host Hallsville Thursday at Tiger Stadium in Grim Park.

Redwater prevails

REDWATER, Texas—Behind Matt Williams’ game saving tackle at the end, Redwater escaped with the victory at home over White Oak, 36-34.

Preston Davis scored on a 22-yard run and also threw a pair of touchdowns for the Dragons.

Nick Fernandez caught two touchdown passes from Davis from 12 and 20 yards. Fernandez also scored on a 6-yard run and also completed the 2-point conversion.

Logan Johnson scored on a 6-yard run for Redwater and also converted two 2-point conversion­s.

The Dragons (8-0) will travel to Hughes Springs on Thursday.

Redwater’s 8th grade team held White Oak scoreless at Dragon Stadium, 40-0.

Jonathan Ketchum’s multiple touchdown performanc­e led Redwater in the rout. Ketchum scored on runs of 4, 45 and 52 yards. Ketchum also scored a 2-point conversion.

Malcolm Brown scored on a 50-yard run and also completed two 2- point conversion­s.

Kaleb Narens scored on a 4-yard run and also completed a 2-point conversion run for the Dragons (5-1).

White Oak defeated Redwater in the 7th grade game, 22-12.

Colin Narens scored on runs of 9 and 15 yards for the Dragons.

Redwater (4-2) will travel to Hughes Springs on Thursday, with kickoff beginning at 4:30 p.m.

THS throttles Greenville

Texas High’s freshmen squad bottled up Greenville at home, 40-0.

Dequarreon Collier began the rout with his 78-yard kickoff return. Collier also scored on runs of 12 and 24 yards with a 62-yard punt return before he was finished running past the Greenville defenders.

Cahari Weekly scored for THS on a 22-yard fumble recovery. Montre Arnold caught a 68-yard strike from Trey Roberts for the Tigers.

Rian Cellers and Lajontae Wrightner scored 2-point conversion runs for Texas High.

The Tigers (6-1, 4-0) will travel to Hallsville on Thursday.

Hawks fall to Pittsburg

Pleasant Grove fell to Pittsburg at Hawk Stadium in the junior varsity match, 28-14.

Jamie Lewis put the Hawks on the board with his 3-yard run. Anthony Meija followed with the made field goal.

Antonio Watkins scored the final touchdown of the game for PG with his 36-yard run. Meija completed the extra point, finishing perfect on extra point attempts for the night.

L-E cruises past Anna

ANNA, Texas—LibertyEyl­au’s 9th grade squad defeated Anna on the road, 30-12.

Semondre Lewis scored two touchdowns and a two-point conversion for the Leopards.

TaKylan Hampton scored two touchdowns and two 2-point conversion­s for L-E. One of Hampton’s scored was a 12-yard intercepti­on.

Austin Gonzales, Maleik Riley, Terrick Alexander and Ezekial Lovelace were spotlighte­d as standouts on the offense by the Liberty-Eylau coaching staff.

Josh Gamble, Parker Goodman and Darrion Crabtree were noted as defensive standouts by the L-E coaches.

The Leopards (3-5, 2-1) will travel to Princeton on Thursday.

Hughes Springs sweeps New Boston

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas— Hughes Springs 8th grade team defeated New Boston at home, 26-14.

Tyree Hunter scored for the Lions on a 2-yard run. Dalton Daniel followed up completing the 2-point conversion.

Clay Fant caught a 30-yard dart from Caden Glass for New Boston.

The Lions coached spotlighte­d the play of the offensive line and the quarterbac­k play of Glass.

New Boston fell to Hughes Springs in the 7th grade match, 30-16.

Malaki Beckham scored on a 1-yard run and also a 2-point conversion. Terez Griffin caught a 50-yard bomb from Beckham.

Demetrius McChester finished the scoring for New Boston with his 2-point conversion.

QC falls

QUEEN CITY, Texas— Queen City’s junior varsity squad fell to Daingerfie­ld at home, 12-0.

Damir Roscoe had a intercepti­ons and Derrick Alexander had a fumble recovery.

The Bulldogs (5-1) won the 8th grade game, 20-8. Austin Terry rushed for a pair of QC touchdowns, and Imahd Hicks added a TD and two 2-point conversion­s.

The Tigers won the 7th grade game, 36-6. Jeremiah Drayton caught a 60-yard TD from Logan Oas for the Bulldogs (3-3).

Queen City (5-3) will travel to Paul Pewitt on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
