LAST WEEK: The Tigers used a big second half to overcome Greenville, 40-20. THIS WEEK: Texas High celebrates Senior Night with a home game against Hallsville. OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS: WRs Tevailance Hunt and Vonderick Stanley each had a pair of touchdown grabs from QB Riley Russell, who was 14-of-23 passing for 261 yards. Syanl;ey had six catches for 119 yards to go along with his two scores, and Hunt had three for 85 yards. RB Chris Sutton added 15 runs for 62 yards, and Russell rushed for 61 yards on nine carries. DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS: LB Chris Arnold and DL Justin Franklin had six stops each, Deidrick Reeves, Tim Noble and Jalen Stewart added five tackles apiece. Darrell Webster had a 35-yard interception return, and Franklin recovered a fumble. COACH GERRY STANFORD’S COMMENTS:
“We felt pretty good about going up against an improved Greenville team and going in and getting a win. We made some good adjustments and were just able to settle down a little but. They did a good job of controlling the clock, and that kept us
us from having many possessions in the first half. We kept ourselves in the game by being able to score, and we made some good adjustments (at halftime).
“Our kids played with better effort and execution than we had in the first half. It was a cold environment, a playoff-type environment, and our kids responded well to those factors.”
