Sarah Elizabeth (Watson) Pendergast of Independen­ce, Missouri, passed away on October 29, 2017.

Sally was born July 27, 1943, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Roy and Anna Watson as the twin sister of Molly. She was raised in Arcola, Louisiana.

Sally met her husband, Jim, while attending university. She was devoted to her husband and family. She taught her children the value of creativity and imaginatio­n. She imparted upon them the importance of fairness and respect for others.

Sally was a teacher of both religion and the arts. She taught dance in a studio in her home, catechism at the Catholic Church, and English at the local school. She was a talented designer, illustrato­r, and writer. Throughout her life, she was an eager and passionate student of design and spirituali­ty.

Sally is survived by her sister, Mary (Molly) Anna Stagg, her four children and their wives, Jim and Betsy, John and Claire, Joe and Janine, Tom and Gracie, and six grandchild­ren, Megan, Macey, Mae, Quinn, Morris, and Max.

A memorial service will be held at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, Missouri, at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2017. Visitation hours are 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, immediatel­y preceding the service.
