Dorothy Ann Johnson, age 81 of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed quietly from this life on November 11, 2017, at her home. She was born March 3, 1936. She was a long-time employee of Kaufman Seeds Inc., starting in 1977 and working until after its closing in 2011. She served on its Board of Directors and was bookkeeper. For a number of years, she was a member of Ashdown Chamber of Commerce, working with various civic projects.

Dorothy enjoyed traveling to Branson, Mo., and Northwest Arkansas for craft fairs and fall foliage tours and to Las Vegas. She loved to read, play bridge, have lunch with friends, and take an occasional turn on the slot machine. Family was her world. She attended Trinity Baptist and Ogden First Baptist churches.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Loyd “Bill” Johnson, in January 1985 and her parents, Jim Fondren, Mary Fondren Johnson and stepfather Jack Johnson.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, William Loyd “Junior” Johnson and fianceé Leslie Westbrook and Debra and Loyd Terry; brothers Ed and Janet Fondren and Billy Roy and Tina Fondren; two grandchild­ren, Jennifer Neiman and Tyler Cooper; two great-grandchild­ren, Emily and Abi Neiman; and her Kaufman Seeds family, along with a host of family and friends

A time of remembranc­e and visitation will be held at Madden Funeral Home on Monday, November 13, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, November 14 at 2 p.m. under direction of Madden Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Graves officiatin­g.
