Clarence “Buddy” Hettich Jr. was born March 5, 1953 and passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017.

He is survived by his mother, Bobbie Potts; son, Christophe­r Shane Hettich; grandson, Christophe­r Shane Hettich Jr.; stepdaught­er, Christy Westbrook; brothers, Sid Hettich and wife, Dana, and Johnny Potts and wife, Deborah; nephews, Shaun Baker and wife, Lindsey, Derrick Hettich, Matthew Potts, Levi Hettich, Monroe Powell and wife, Amy, and Kody Jones and wife, Lauren; nieces, Patty Whipple and husband, Jason, Krystal Best and husband, Sean, Shelly Dean and husband, Kenneth, Danilee Carter and husband, Danny, Mandy Steinprise­s and husband, Scott, and Kala Anders and husband, Tyrel; great-nephews, Grayson Baker and Josh Hettich; great-nieces, Alex Taylor, Abby Taylor, Libbie Hettich, Layni Baker and Stella Best; and honorary siblings, Josh Martin and Sawn Sorin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hettich Sr.; wife, Christie Schelkopf; sister, Bobbie Jean Baker; brother-in-law, Tim Baker; and great-niece, Ally Baker.

Buddy loved his family and friends, and most of all enjoyed life the way he wanted to. His favorite thing to do was ride his Harley with his wife. In high school, Buddy set a state record in the pole vault.

A service to celebrate Buddy’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Chapelwood Funeral Home, 1015 N. Kings Highway, Nash, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
