NEW BOS­TON, Texas— James Robert Glover Sr., 78 of Hooks, Texas, died Mon­day, Nov. 13, 2017, in a lo­cal nurs­ing home.

Mr. Glover was born Sept. 11, 1939, in New Bos­ton, Texas. He was re­tired from Red River Army De­pot, em­ployed by J&J Live­stock, a Bap­tist and a Na­tional Guard vet­eran.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Sue Glover of Hooks; two sons and one daugh­ter-in-law, James Glover Jr. of Hooks and Wil­liam and Tammy Glover of Red­wa­ter, Texas; one daugh­ter, Rita Eaves of Red Lick, Texas; one sis­ter, Flora John­son of Hooks; three grand­chil­dren, Ash­ley Mont­gomery of Red­wa­ter, Jen­nifer May of New­port, Ark., and Christina Adams of Red Lick, Texas; five great­grand­chil­dren; and a num­ber of other rel­a­tives.

Grave­side ser­vices will be 2 p.m. Thurs­day at BatesRolf Fu­neral Home with the Rev. Pa­trick Evans of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will be in Red Bayou Cemetery.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 5 to 7 p.m. to­day at the fu­neral home.
