Trinity Christian falls to Blevins, 66-43

Trinity Christian was dealt a loss Friday night, falling 66-43 to Blevins at Edgar Wallace Gymnasium.

Zane Kirkham led the Hornets to victory with 32 points. If that were not enough, DeAndre Burton tacked on 17 points of his own including five triples.

The Warriors' (8-4) frontman for the evening was Grant Nolan who scored more than half the teams' points with 22.

In each quarter, save the last, Blevins outscored Trinity, and in two frames the margin was 13 points or greater. The Warriors made 5-12 free throws and the Hornets sank 12-14.

Trinity will host Spring Hill Tuesday at 5:30.

The Warriors' JV boys team overpowere­d Blevins winning 57-44.

Hunter Phillips lead Trinity with 14 points.

David Franks had 22 points for the Hornets.

In the junior high girls game, the Lady Warriors were defeated by North Heights 29-16.

Seaira Watson had 16 points for the Lady Backs.

Gracie Luckey was the high scorer for the warriors with 5 points.

Hughes Springs 68, Rivercrest 65

BIG SANDY, Texas—Chandler King scorched the nets for 39 points to lift Hughes Springs to a victory over Rivercrest in the Big Sandy tournament.

The Mustangs (7-3) trailed by five at the end of the first quarter. In the second period the Rebels outscored their hosts 21-18 for an eight point lead going into halftime.

In the third frame Hughes Springs cut the margin to one.

The Mustangs made eight three-pointers during the contest; six came from King. Brennan Dowell offered support to King with 13 points, including two triples, six steals, and four assists.

The Mustangs overtook Rivercrest in the final quarter, scoring 17 points and holding back the Rebels to 13.

Hughes Springs will play Winnsboro tomorrow in the Big Sandy Tournament at 11:30.

Ashdown 51, Bauxite 49

ASHDOWN, Arkansas–The Panthers (4-1) Carried a 28-21 lead into halftime, and held off the Miners (8-3) for a thrilling 51-49 win. With the score 41-35 at the end of 3 quarters, the Miners rallied, but came up just short. Kaiden Hunter had a big game, scoring 27 points, including 3 3-pointers to offset 3 Miners in double figures, led by Greg Chanault with 15. Larry Wright chipped in 13 and Tim Stroud had 10 for the Miners in a losing effort.
