Kristin Scoggin of Idabel, Okla., was initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Oklahoma State University.
Scoggin was among 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni initiated into the society each year. Inductees must be nominated, approved by a chapter and be in the top 10 percent of seniors or in the top 7.5 percent of juniors.
Jeremy Ramos and Mallory Williams of Texarkana received their white coats on Aug. 14, 2017, at Harding University College of Pharmacy’s white coat ceremony.
The event represents the educational transition from undergraduate level general studies to professional pharmacy education by symbolizing the students’ active participation in providing health care.
As Director of Student Affairs Susan Grace called each student’s name, HUCOP department chairs Dr. Julie Kissack and Dr. Scott Weston presented the student with a white coat and name tag. Assistant Dean for Experiential Education Dr. Rayanne Story led the students in the Pledge of Professionalism, and Vice President of Practice Innovation of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association Dr. John Vinson welcomed the students to the pharmacy community.
Southern Arkansas University inducted 53 students into the Teacher Education Program on Nov. 13.
