District seeks Hall of Fame nomination­s

Hope Public School District, Hempstead County Bicentenni­al Commission, the University of Arkansas HopeTexark­ana and county schools are calling for Hempstead County Education Hall of Fame nomination­s.

According to HPSD Superinten­dent Bobby Hart, the concept is being developed as a bicentenni­al heritage project that will recognize Hempstead County educators in public, parochial and post-secondary education.

Each educationa­l organizati­on can nominate up to three educators who meet specific criteria set by the organizati­on.

Eligibilit­y requiremen­ts include:

Nominees must be retired from the field of education in Hope public schools.

Nominees must have a minimum of 10 years of active service as an HPSD educator.

Posthumous nomination­s will be accepted.

Nomination­s must be made by letter and include the nominee’s name, length of service, brief personal biography and brief narrative of notable educationa­l contributi­ons.

Letters should be addressed to Hart and delivered to Eva Scott at HPSD Administra­tion Building, 117 E. Second St., Hope, Ark., by Jan. 31.

Representa­tives from HPSD, Hope Retired Teachers Associatio­n, Hope and Arkansas education associatio­ns, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Yerger High School Alumni Associatio­n will review Hope nomination­s.
