-

Teresa Vorhease passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the age of 65.

Teresa was born on June 28, 1952, in Rome, Ga., to the late Hoyt and Ruby Tillery and was one of three children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Priscilla Skinner, her husband Dr. James Vorhease, and her daughter, Angela Nicole Cox.

Teresa enjoyed serving her family, friends and community. She married the love of her life, the late Dr. James Vorhease in 1971; and they had countless adventures together in their 39 years of marriage. Their marriage began by spending their afternoons exploring and snorkeling the beaches of Guam, which sparked her passion for the ocean and adventure. Whether it be through building medical practices, racing thoroughbred horses, running a floating marina, restoring a Victorian house or collecting classic cars, no matter the journey Teresa was right there by Bill’s side. She was always excited for their next awaited adventures.

Late nights were spent at antique auctions, where Teresa was known, on occasion, to out-bid Bill. When they purchased their farm, it was Teresa who taught Bill what true farm life was all about. Teresa and Bill raised three independent daughters and subsequently spent their last few years together rekindling how they began their marriage, by cruising the world by sea. Teresa was an elegant woman and full of grace who lived, loved, and was a mother to all that she met. She lived for excitement and adventure, and was the first one ready to ride the extreme roller coasters at Disney. In her spare time, she loved to paint, knit, tend to her orchids, and assist with party planning. Teresa treasured her relationship with Jesus, family and friends.
