Fouke girls cruise past Bloomburg behind 3-point shooting

FOUKE, Ark.—Fouke girls hit more treys than two-pointers and scored enough in just the first quarter to easily hold off Bloomburg, 74-18, on Friday at Panthers Gym.

River Watkins led the Lady Panthers’ onslaught with a game-high 17 points, including five of the team’s 15 3-pointers. Teammates Mallory Oliver, Taylor Hardin and Hannah Mauldin each hit three 3-pointers and the win.

Hardin finished with 15 points, Oliver had 13 and Mauldin added 12.

Fouke (11-4, 1-2) will be back in action on Dec. 29 when it travels to take on Bradley.

McLeod 65, Detroit 31

McLEOD, Texas—McLeod got off to a fast start and never let off the gas en route to a comfortable win over Detroit.

Jilian Ellis scored a game-high 16 points for the Lady Longhorns and teammate Shelby Davis added 14.

Brittany Ricks finished with 13 points for Detroit.

McLeod (13-6, 2-1) will be on the road Dec. 29 to play Rivercrest.

Redwater 52, Hughes Springs 51, 2OT

REDWATER, Texas—It took double overtime to decide Redwater’s victory over Hughes Springs.

Karlee Carmony led the Lady Dragons with 22 points and teammate Savannah Corbell added 12.

Redwater and Hughes Springs junior varsity also went into overtime, finishing in a 22-22 tie, with Sydney McBride leading the Lady Dragons with eight points.

Boys McLeod 74, Detroit 61

McLEOD, Texas—Detroit got hot in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough as McLeod came away with the victory.

Zach Prince led the Longhorns with 19 points and teammates Blake Williams added 17, Casey Smith 15 and Dagan Keener 10. Williams also connected on four 3-pointers.

Detroit’s Hunter Crutchfield and Miles Davis each scored a team-high 13 points.

The Longhorns’ junior varsity fell to Detroit, 67-56.

Kobe Bonner scorched the nets for 20 points for the young Horns, Austin Gilmore added 14 and Nos Gryder finished with 13 in the loss.

Detroit’s varsity team increased its record to 18-4.
