Walraven announces bid for another term as sheriff
Little River County Sheriff Bobby Walraven has announced his candidacy for re-election. As a first-term sheriff, Walraven says he has implemented new policies and increased mandatory training in order to provide a more proactive service of law enforcement.
“Through grants and donations, ballistic vests have been updated, patrol rifles have been provided for every deputy and body cameras issued to the night shift officers. Also, the police software has been updated and JPX pepper guns added for officer safety,” Walraven said.
Walraven touts the support of Little River County officials during his first term as sheriff.
“It has been a pleasure to work with our County Judge Mike Cranford and the Little River Quorum Court. They have worked with the sheriff’s office every way possible to make sure the citizens of this county receive the best services possible.”
Walraven was born and raised in Ashdown. He is the third generation of Walravens to raise his family in Little River County. He holds various specialty instructor certificates for firearms, chemical weapons, radar, supervision and management certificates. He also holds the level of advanced certificate with Law Enforcement Standards.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the people of Little River County for allowing me to serve as your sheriff. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens here in our county. I am very dedicated to my job as sheriff. I sincerely, ask for your continued support. If re-elected, I will continue serving the people by providing the best possible service of law enforcement and will make it my highest priority,” Walraven said.
