Pleasant Grove nabs trio of superlatives
Pleasant Grove led with three superlatives on the District 14-4A boys’ team. The Hawks’ Xavier Benson was named Co-MVP along with Liberty-Eylau’s Decorian Phillips, Kameron Woods was named Co-Defensive MVP, and Pleasant Grove head coach Billy Brewer was chosen Coach of the Year.
Daimion Collins, from Atlanta, was named Newcomer of the Year.
Jaylon Jimmerson of Pittsburg was the Offensive MVP, and Cameron Jones from Paris shared the Co-Defensive MVP.
Aaron Harmon was named to the first team for the Hawks, as was Atlanta’s Charlie Powell. Other first teamers included Jordan Mitchell and Trae Johnson from Paris, Jay Walters of North Lamar, and Keithlen Griffin from Pittsburg.
Griffin Young was named to the second team for Pleasant Grove, while teammates Dominique Williams and Isaiah Cross were honored on the team from Liberty-Eylau. Other second teamers were Trevon Dennis from Pairs, Alec Asay of North Lamar, and Keontea Burns from Pittsburg.
