Dixie Jeter Wright, 82, of Texarkana, TX died Friday, March 2, 2018 in Longview, TX.

Mrs. Wright was born October 10, 1935 in Cov - ington, TN. She grew up in Millington, TN and attended Christian College in Columbia, MO and Memphis State. She worked for Chandler, Morgan, Manire, and Chandler Law Firm. In 1974, the family moved to Texarkana. Dixie was active in the church, YWCA, Opportunit­ies Inc., and numerous other civic organizati­ons. She was well known for her many talents with thread, yarn and fabric. Dixie enjoyed time with her quilting club, time at the river in Heber Springs, AR, and going back to Memphis to visit the Shelby County General Store where she spent most of her childhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Woods Wright, Jr. and one son, Woodson Wright.

Survivors include one daughter, Dixie DiAnn Golden, of Longview, TX, one daughter-inlaw, Sally Wright of Texarkana, one sister-inlaw, Jimmie Donnan of San Antonio, TX; three grandchild­ren, Jacob Wright and wife Shae of Fayettevil­le, AR; John W. Golden of Atlanta, GA, and Rachel R. Golden of Houston, TX; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, Arkansas, with the Rev. Jaimie Alexander officiatin­g. Private burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the funeral home.
