Dragons fall to Warren in tournament nightcap

NASHVILLE, Ark.— Redwater fell to Warren, 11-9, in its second game of the Ralph Gross Memorial Tournament Friday night.

The Dragons tallied up seven runs in the fourth inning but were not able to escape a slow start, being outscored 5-2 in the first three frames.

Redwater’s leading hitters were Avery Farren and Hayden Hackett; both contribute­d 2 singles and 2 RBI. Mason Robertson added 2 singles and an RBI, Seth Lathrop had 2 RBI, and Matt Williams tacked on one RBI.

Luke Gorman served as the winning pitcher for Warren and was assisted by Logan Smith.

Gage Reep, Cade Reep, and Dylan Higgins led the Lumberjack­s hitting each with a single and two RBI. Mark Hairston and Kendale Pope added an RBI apiece.

On Thursday the Dragons were defeated by Crossett 3-1.

Preston Davis had Redwater’s only hit, an RBI double.

The Dragon’s play Queen City Tuesday in a district opener in Redwater.

THS drops 2 of 3

WYLIE, Texas—Texas High got a win against Sherman in Friday night’s Wylie Tournament, but fell to Rockwall and host Wylie.

Mabry Smith fanned 11 in the Lady Tigers’ 4-1 win over Sherman. Ashley Wyrick hit an RBI-double for THS, and teammate Lindsey Egger had a triple.

Rockwall scored 14 runs in the second inning had 20 hits total in the contest to rout Texas High, 17-4. Korie Hamilton and Kaitlyn Cross combined for four hits and 3 RBI, with both finishing with a double.

Tournament host Wylie also got the best of the Lady Tigers, taking a 9-0 victory. Hamilton had two singles in the loss.
