Nashville blasts Pine Tree

PITTSBURG, Texas—Nasvhille cruised to an easy win over Pine Tree on Thursday in the Pittsburg Tournament.

Tyler Hanson struck out four en route to a complete game and knocked in two RBI on two doubles for the Scrappers. JR Middleton hit a single and a double with two RBIs and teammate Jaydon Hostetler also hit two RBI.

Nashville (5-1) will be back in tourney action today with a game against Newman Smith at 2 p.m., followed by a game against host Pittsburg at 5 p.m.

Center 5, Atlanta 4

CENTER, Texas—Atlanta’s rally fell short as it dropped a game to Center on Thursday.

Kade Wood went 3-for-4 at the plate—all singles—and drove in a run for the Rabbits and teammate Slade Holland pitched six innings while striking out four in the loss.

Redwater 2, Paris 0

WHITE OAK, Texas—Preston Davis hit two doubles to help Redwater post a shutout victory over Paris in the White Oak Tournament.

Davis finished with an RBI for the Dragons and Seth Lathrop and Justin White scored a run apiece. Lathrop also got the win on the mound.

Preston Davis struck out seven and had three RBIs on Wednesday as Redwater romped past Queen City, 13-3. Mason Robertson and Avery Farren both went 3-for-4 and had two RBIs each.

Horatio 5, Junction City 1

ARKADELPHI­A, Ark.—Dakota Frachiseur pitched six solid innings as Horatio took advantage of four Junction City errors in a win at the Southwest Sporting Goods Tournament.

Frachiseur fanned eight and only walked two for the Lions. Wade Beasley finished with two hits and an RBI.

Queen City 10, Sabine 4

QUEEN CITY, Texas—Queen City survived a three-run fifth inning to hold on for a victory against Sabine in the Cass County Bank Queen City Classic Tournament.

Bradley Norton went 3-for-5 at the plate and Nate Burden doubled for the Bulldogs. Easton Fincher got the win on the mound as he struck out six batters.

Queen City will play again today in the tournament as it will take on Paris Chisum at 4:30 p.m. and New Diana at 7 p.m.

SOFTBALL Ashdown 4, Ouachita 3

ARKADELPHI­A, Ark.—A late game really was enough for Ashdown to edge Ouachita in the second day of the SWSG Tournament.

VonJoy Thomas led the Lady Panthers from the dish, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Kenya Wilson and Aleya Hill each added a single and RBI apiece for Ashdown.

Angelina McGinn received the win in the circle for the Lady Panthers.
