James “Jim” A. Chiarizio

James “Jim” A. Chiarizio, age 89, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 in a local hospice facility.

Mr. Chiarizio was born April 23, 1928 in Erie, Pennsylvan­ia. He was retired from Domino Federal Credit Union, a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Chiarizio and one son, Eric Chiarizio.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Stan Stone of Texarkana, and Susan and Todd McGoogan of Texarkana; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark and Brenda Chiarizio of Dallas, Texas and Paul Chiarizio of Texarkana; seven grandchild­ren and their spouses, Allison and Jason Lord, Matthew and Jessica Chiarizio, Brian Chiarizio, Dallas and Whitnee Stone, Ryan and Hanna Crider, Lindsey Williams and Tyler and Chelsie McGoogan; special family friend, Dr. Gary Brewton; nieces and nephews, James and Peggy Chiarizio, Janet and Joseph Constantin­o, Jerald and Colleen Chiarizio and Jeffrey and Lori Chiarizio; twelve great-grandchild­ren and many other special friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Texarkana and the girls of Sitters, LLC. for the great care given to their dad.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Michael Adams and Father Francis O’Dowd officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with visitation to follow.
