- By Brian Tyl

Liberty-Eylau senior standout baseball player Trevarie Hodge signed his letter of intent to play college baseball for Texas A&M UniversityTexarkana o n Thursday.

“Trevarie has brought leadership and his playing ability to the team,” Leopards’ head coach Zach Fowler said. “He runs fast, covers center field for us, and swings the bat well. He has helped change the culture, and you can’t put a price tag on that.”

In addition to playing center field, Hodge has also pitched for Liberty-Eylau. He was an infielder for the Leopards in previous years.

“He is a fun-loving kid, works real hard, and plays with a lot of emotion,” Fowler said. “He can throw, run and hit. Trevarie will just have to learn to put it all together. All of the tools are there, and I think he will transition into a great baseball player for the Eagles.”

Hodge chose A&MTexarkana because he wanted to play in his hometown, near his friends and family.
