Hughes Springs wins relays

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas— Hughes Springs won both the girls and boys divisions of the Perritte Relays at Mustangs Stadium.

The Mustangs combined for a score of 183, while the Lady Mustangs finished with a score of 155

Tradarian Craver won the 200 meter dash for Hughes Springs, while teammates Chandler King won the 400 meter dash, Trey Beam won the 300 meter hurdles, Hunter Brabham won the discus and Dedrick Hill won the long jump.

The Mustangs also won the 4x400 meter relay with Beam, King, Daniel Allen and Markees Kemp.

Adrianna Kennedy took gold in the triple jump for Hughes Springs’ girls, and teammate Carley Woodyard crossed the line first in the 1600 meter run.

Jaycee Alexander won the 3200 meters, Malayah Everett took first in the shot put, and Lanie Pemberton crossed first in the 300 meter hurdles.

Tanner Pounds won the 1oo meter dash for Hooks’ boys. Pounds was also a member of the 4x200 meter relay and the 4x100 meter relay, which the Hornets won both. Pounds, Shamar Jefferson, Carter Duncan and Logan Murray made up the 4x100 meter relay squad, while Pounds, Murray, Jefferson and Marquiz Estell made up the 4x200 meter relay team.

Estell won the triple jump for the Hornets, and teammate Teondrick Wade won the high jump.

Austin Lowe won the 110 meter hurdles for Queen City and Daniel Keene secured the shot put for the Bulldogs.

Kadeviuona Andrews earned gold in the 400 meter dash on the girls side for Daingerfie­ld, while teammates Joi Akinsuroju won the 100 meter dash and Kiara Robinson had the best discus throw.

Daingerfie­ld won the 4x100 meter relay with members Andrews, Akinsuroju, Kahleyia Johnson and Layla Johnson. Johnson, Andrews, Quanesha Roberts and Montrevia Durham also won the 4x400 meter relay.

CeCe Walker won the 200 meter for Queen City, while teammates Madi Jones, Jessica Jones, Tiera Johnson, including Walker, won the 4x200 meter relay.

Jefferson takes crowns

LINDEN, Texas—Jefferson won both the girls and boys titles at the Bill Hines Tiger Relays at Jack Hetheringt­on Stadium Thursday.

Tre’Derrian Rose won the 200 meter dash for Clarksvill­e and teammate LeVante Edwards won the 110 meter hurdles.

Ja’Kevian Rose won the long jump and triple jump for Linden-Kildare. Teammates Dre’Shawn Williams won the shot put and Ty Patterson won the high jump.

Lawson McBain won the pole vault for Redwater and teammate Parker Gravitt added the 3200 meter run crown.

Dakota Grant won the discus for James Bowie.

Zach Prince won the 800 meter and 1600 meter run for McLeod.

DJ Turner won the 400 meter dash for Paul Pewitt, while teammate Travis Smith won the 300 meter hurdles.

Turner, Travis, Lajathan Allen and Dillon Coffey won the 4x400 meter relay for Paul Pewitt.

Cambell Warner won the pole vault in the girls division for Redwater, while teammates Sydney Hornbuckle won the 1600 meter run and Chloe Turner won the 400 meter dash.

Alyssa Hall won the 800 meter run for McLeod.

Katie Turner won the 100 meter dash for Paul Pewitt, while teammate Ty Byrd won the discus.

Turner, Dede Jones, Sissy Jones Catlen Randle won the 4x400 meter relay for Pewitt.

Kayla Hines won the triple jump, 200 meter dash and long jump for Linden-Kildare.
