Officers nab two women allegedly found asleep at bank

The Texarkana, Texas, Police Department arrested two Idabel, Okla., women early Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 4601 W. Seventh St

Meghann Cook, 29, and Kasie Robberson, 31, were allegedly sleeping in a Pontiac Grand Prix parked in the ATM lane at the bank, according to informatio­n from TTPD.

Officers were dispatched to a suspicious-person call at 8:13 a.m. after bank employees reportedly discovered two women sleeping in the vehicle in the ATM lane and were unable to wake them, according to Shawn Vaughn, TTPD spokesman.

Cook told officers that she did not have her identifica­tion with her but said her name was Jennifer Cantrell, according to Vaughn.

After officers confronted her with several inconsiste­ncies in the informatio­n she had provided, Cook eventually provided her real name.

She allegedly said that she lied about her name because she knew that there were outstandin­g warrants for her arrest. Two felony warrants for endangerin­g others while eluding and attempting to elude police in McCurtain County, Okla., were confirmed.

Authoritie­s state two rifles, one of which was reported stolen in Oklahoma, were found in the vehicle, along with crystal methamphet­amine, marijuana, drug parapherna­lia and several credit cards and identifica­tion belonging to other people.

Cook was arrested on charges of failure to identify, theft of a firearm, fraudulent possession of identifyin­g informatio­n, possession of marijuana and possession of drug parapherna­lia. Her total bond is set at $41,271. There was a hold placed on her for the Oklahoma felony warrants.

Robberson was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug parapherna­lia. Her bond is set at $2,271.

Cook and Robberson were taken to the Bi-State Justice Building jail and remain in custody.
