Shop or Not?

Are you likely to order groceries online for curbside pickup?

-

Life is certainly becoming easier, even here is the Twin Cities. Take grocery shopping, for example. It used to mean finding a place to park, fighting crowds in the store, locating an open checkout line and then lugging purchases back to the car.

No more. Texarkana’s two Walmart Supercenters now let customers place and order online. Employees will gather and bag the items and deliver them right to your car when you pull up.

This will probably be great for a lot of folks. It would probably save money by cutting back on “impulse” items, too. But is it for everyone? After all, some folks enjoy shopping, even for groceries.

We want to know what you think. Are you likely to use a grocery pickup option at Walmart or any other store that offers it? Or are you more likely to continue to do your own shopping in the store?

Last Week: Fleeing Facebook?

Last week’s question was about Facebook and the revelations of personal information being mined and used for political purposes. Are you considering giving up or reducing time spent on Facebook? Or do you find the the social media platform’s benefits outweigh possible negatives?

No, I’m staying put. I see no sense in leaving, at least for me. I don’t do a lotta searching. I think that’s how they horn in on your data. FB Is a big part of my daily entertainment. This reminds me of last year, when so many threatened to boycott the NFL. Well, I didn’t and it wasn’t that long that many of them were watching NFL FB. I can assure you I am not one of the 50 million, who were hacked, or whatever ya’ call it. — B. J., Texarkana, Texas

I have no qualms about keeping my Facebook account open. If people don’t like Facebook then all they have to do is simply delete their account. I see people on Facebook all of the time these days calling things “fake news” along with them being trolls and bullies. I hope that Facebook starts putting blocks on those types of people’s accounts. However I personally will keep my account open. With some much needed tweaks Facebook will survive. So let the crybabies whine all they want to.

What else is there to do? Besides Google Tube of course

Give me an alternative and I would. Dump Facebook? Funny. I’m the troll paterfamilias. They, including data farmers, fear me; not the other way around.

Thinking about dumping FB.
