Texas High falls to Hallsville

HALLSVILLE, Texas—Texas High lost on the road to Hallsville, 8-2, Thursday night and slipped to 4-3 in district and 11-6 on the season.

Jaydin Ainsworth led the Lady Bobcats with three runs scored. Ashley Langley added to the Lady Tiger’s misfortune going 2-3 from the plate with two RBI.

Hallsville sandwiched Texas High’s second inning run with a run in the first and one in third.

In the fifth, the Bobcats extended the lead by tacking on three additional runs.

The Tiger’s added their second and final run of the contest in the sixth frame, but with three more runs earned by Hallsville it was too little too late.

Alexis Bolden led Texas High hitters, going 2-3 with an RBI. Kylee Spriggs added an RBI of her own and Kaitlyn Cross hit a double.

The Tiger’s host Pine Tree Thursday in a varsity only contest starting at 6 p.m.

Tigers’ Cayli Clack

earns first

WACO, Texas—The Texas High varsity tennis team participat­ed in the 19th Annual Mike Nesbit Memorial tournament on Thursday, which was the Tiger’s final tourney of the spring season.

Cayli Clack took first place for the girls B team in the singles draw, beating Trinity Miller in the finals 6-4, 6-4.

Conner Elliott placed third for the boys B team in the singles draw, topping Sean Park, 7-6, 6-3.

Texas High will host a district tournament April 4-5.
