Genoa Central teams victorious

GENOA, Ark.—Two crowns are better than one.

Genoa Central won both the girls and boys divisions at the Dragon Relays at Byron Bryant Field at Dragon Stadium on Thursday.

Genoa Central scored 126 points to win the boys division, while Prescott scored 125 points to place second and McGehee placed third with 72.5 points.

The Lady Dragons totaled 189.5 points, Foreman placed second with a score of 118 and Spring Hill finished third with a score of 81.

Jack Jones, Ryan Whitehead, Caedmon Kyles, Casey Eddy took gold in the 4x800 relay for GC. Whitehead placed first in the 1600 meters.

Malik Beasley won the discus and shot put for De Queen.

Kyren Batey, of Foreman, won both the 200 meters and the long jump for the Gators.

Rhett Nelson set a record in the pole vault with a height of 15-06 for Trinity Christian, while teammate Jakob Martin was the fastest in the 3200 meters.

Adrian Block, of Prescott, won the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles for the Curley Wolves.

Larry Peters won the 800 meters for Prescott, and teammate Ryan Johnson won the 400 meters.

Alley Dawson of Genoa Central won the shot and discus for the Lady Dragons.

Kadi Downs won the triple jump and long jump for the Lady Gators.

Darnisha Lykes paced Lafayette County by winning the 100 meters and 200 meters.

Grace Gwin, Savannag Lovewell, Downs and Kenzie Cowan of Foreman won both the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay.

Victoria Hill won the 800 meters for Genoa Central, while teammate Carlie Teague won the 1600 meters.
