Radio Operator Class
A technical-grade amateur radio operator’s class will be hosted by the Atlanta Public Library on Thursday nights, April 19 through May 31.
The class will meet each evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the library on 101 W. Hiram Street in Atlanta.
The course is free; however, a fee of $20 will be required for the study guide, materials, test and license fees.

Wildflowers Trails Festival
The 48th annual Wildflower Trails Festival is getting ready for April 26-28 in the towns of Linden, Hughes Springs and Avinger. Trail rides, treasure hunts, carnival, pageants, street dancing, garden clubs, crafts, music and parades are all on tap for these days.
Hughes Springs Library
Here’s a list of continuing events and services at the Hughes Springs Library this month.
Book Club, 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, with Julie Berg. Discussion will be on “My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry” by Fredrik Backman.
GED Class. Every Monday and Thursday at 5:30 pm. It’s free. Call the library for more information.
Gardening Club. Meets the third Thursday of each month at 2 pm. Led by master gardener Tony Cates.
Preschool Story Time. Meets each Tuesday at 10:15 am. For 3, 4, and 5 year old children not in school. Led by story teller Mary Lynne Arterberry.
Brown Bag Lunch. Available first and third Wednesday of every month. Cost is $5. Library will deliver to local businesses or you can pick up your order at the First Baptist Church CLC.
“From Dirt to Dinner” is the theme for the free checkout of heirloom vegetable seeds through the library. Check out six packages of seeds that include planting instructions. This project with the Cass County Master Gardeners is a chance to try gardening with little expense.
The Genealogy Club meets the last Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m and is free.
