L-E girls hold on to second place

PITTSBURG, Texas—Victoria Foster went 3 for 5, had 2 RBI and scored three runs to lead Liberty-Eylau to a 13-10 victory over Pittsburg in a District 14-4A softball game on Monday.

The win solidifies second place for the Lady Leopards (19-6-1, 6-3).

Savannah Phelps was 2 for 3 with a double, walked twice, and scored three runs for Liberty-Eylau. Keeley Norris was 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI and scored two runs, while teammate Mariah Coleman was 2 for 5 with a double and 4 RBI.

Mackenzye Williamson had a pair of hits and an RBI, and Tyrah Venable was 2 for 4 for the Leopards.

Isabella Gunderson scattered 13 hits, struck out six, and walked four in the win for L-E.

Nashville 16, Ashdown 4

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Madi Miller threw a 5-hitter, struck out nine and earned the win as Nashville run-ruled Ashdown.

Abby Harmon slapped two singles and doubled for the Lady Scrappers, while teammate Aly Dixon smacked a triple and doubled. Miller helped her own cause with a double and a single. Julianne Futrell, Brookelyen Cox, Macie Goff, and Olivia Herzog each had two singles for Nashville.

New Boston 21, Daingerfie­ld 1

NEW BOSTON, Texas—New Boston scored early and often and never let off the gas as it went on to throttle Daingerfie­ld.

Carlee Ratcliff finished with three hits and 4 RBI for the Lady Lions, as teammates Megan Daniel, Morgan McAlexande­r and Alexis Morden had two hits a piece, and Angel Evans finished with 4 RBI and a three-run home run.

New Boston’s Lauren Hurst and McAlexande­r combined for the one-hitter, while fanning 10 in four innings.

Redwater 4, Paul Pewitt 0

REDWATER, Texas—Bethanee Calicott struck out 13 en route to Redwater’s shutout win over Paul Pewitt.

Keeley Wilbur and Crayton Bradford each finished with two hits for the Lady Dragons.

Angels 15, No Limits 13

Jeremiah Carmack drove in four runs to lead the Angels over No Limits in the Challenger Softball league at Hobo Jungle Park.

Eli Coats hit and RBI single for the Angles.

Aaron Alford belted two home runs for No Limits.

Four teams face off Monday at 6 p.m. at Hobo Jungle Park with a second game at 7.

Sluggers 8, Slammers 4

Eddie Webb and Jay Tee Turner locked it down in the infield and led the Sluggers to the win in the Challenger Softball league at Hobo Jungle Park.

The game was a defensive showdown.

Baseball Horatio 14, Mena 1

HORATIO, Ark.—Horatio scored seven runs in each of the third and fourth innings to run-rule Mena.

Wade Beasley had two hits and five RBI for the Lions, while Kenley Anderson posted the win on the mound with five strikeouts in five innings of work for the complete game. Michael Jones also finished with two hits.

Genoa Central 9, Fouke 7

GENOA, Ark.—The Battle of the Bridge baseball edition lived up to the hype.

Trevor Wells received the win on the bump for Genoa Central.

Dylan Rushing hit a 2-run home run in the first inning for the Dragons. Rushing finished his night going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.

Amzi East hit two, 3-run home runs for Fouke. East hit his first in the first inning and his second in the top of the seventh inning. East finished with 6 RBI in the contest.

Austin Michaelis hit a walk-off 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Dragons the win.
