AHS boys, girls rout Hot Springs

Arkansas High played like it was on a mission Tuesday night.

The Hogs (11-8) run-ruled Hot Springs at Razorback Field on Senior Night, 11-0, and the Lady Backs (8-9) throttled the Lady Trojans in two innings, 17-0.

BASEBALL AHS 11, Hot Springs 0

The Razorbacks jumped on their visitors early in the final home stand of the season.

AHS went up 3-0 in the first inning.

Gage Gore drove in Drake Browning to begin the rout for the Hogs.

Gore also received the win on the hill for AHS, while going two innings, giving up no runs, one hit and striking out six. Gore also went 1 for 2 at the dish with a RBI and scored two runs for the Razorbacks.

Hog slugger Nick Vaughn drove in Gore off a deep triple to mount the runs against the Trojans. Vaughn finished his night going 1 for 2 with an RBI and scoring three runs for AHS.

Arkansas High went through their pitching rotation in the win.

Austin Nix pitched the third inning, Matthew Mobley came in the fourth inning, Dylan Adcock made his appearance in the fifth inning and Cody Adcock retired the side in the fifth.

All the pitchers were seniors except Cody Adcock.

Dylan Adcock led the Hogs at the dish going 2 for 2 with 4 RBI and also scoring a run.

AHS senior Kameron Clark added two doubles and scored a run, while senior teammates Wren Williams and Mobley scored runs for the Hogs in the rout.

Arkansas High returns to action on Friday, traveling to De Queen at 4:30 p.m.

AHS 17, Hot Springs 0

Kaitlyn Fortenberr­y threw a perfect game through two innings, and that’s all it would take for AHS to run-rule Hot Springs at Lady Razorback Field.

Fortenberr­y also gave herself insurance at the plate, adding a single and scoring three runs for Arkansas High.

Fortenberr­y, Sydnee Blackwell and Adison Wright, scored three runs each for the Lady Backs in the contest.

Wright added two singles for Arkansas High, while teammate Jordan Standley added a single in the first inning during the rout.

Kailey Burns led the Lady Backs at the dish, going 2 for 2 with a double and scoring three runs for AHS.

Shelby Robinson rounded out the AHS batters, adding a double and scoring a run for the Lady

Backs.

Hot Springs surrendere­d eight walks in two innings.

Every Lady Razorback hitter scored a run before the game was called.
