BESSIE MROCZKO
Bessie Mae Mroczko, age 92, of Texarkana, Texas passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 in a local hospice facility.
M s . Mroczko was born July 23, 1925 in Hughes Springs, Texas . She was a member of First Baptist Church and a retired computer technician for Red River Army Depot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Thomas Mroczko; two sisters, Betty Carrara Monroe and Eddie Lue Clem; and her parents, Ed Collins and Katie Collins
Our mother had a keen sense of humor complete with dramatic facial expressions that kept us laughing and crying to the end. She was our strength and was there for us when we needed her and even when we thought we didn’t. We were first in her thoughts, assuring us she’d be OK but didn’t want to leave her babies. We were all blessed a few days before she passed when she woke from a nap and said she felt as if she had died for a moment and saw an amazing thing. She described it as heaven on earth. The serenity we saw on her face, in her eyes, and the awe in her voice when she would say amazing, gave us all the peace we needed to know Mom would be OK. She will be always in our hearts and we will miss her desperately but we know she’s probably drinking a Coke, nibbling a Hershey bar, tending to her flower beds and waiting for Dad to whip up a gourmet meal.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jane Mroczko of Cartersville, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Mike Gibson of Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren, John Mroczko, Amy Bishop, Craig Buster, and Caitlin Gibson; five great-grandchildren, Dawson Bishop
Jack Mroczko, Millie Grace Mroczko, Emma Buster, and Noah Buster; one sister and brother-inlaw, Lucy and James Trout of Irving, Texas and a number of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Larry Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
