Kilpatrick Elementary event garners 12,000 items for regional food bank

About 300 people participat­ed in Kilpatrick Elementary’s second annual Hunger’s No Game 5K/Fun Run on April 16 at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and 35th Street Texarkana, Ark.

The school-sponsored event brought in 12,000 nonperisha­ble items for the Harvest Regional Food Bank. School officials stated that the food bank was chosen because of the weekend meals the organizati­on provides to local students.

The overall top male winner was Daniel Fawcett and top female winner was Rose Dickinson. Both trophies and medallions were given to the top finishers of each category.
