AHS girls bagel Hot Springs on pitch

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Sydnee Pritchett and Sarah Rose each garnered five points as Arkansas High routed host Hot Springs, 9-0, in girls soccer Monday.

Pritchett scored four times and had an assist, and Rose added a hat trick (three goals) and a pair of assists for the Lady Backs. Madison Colbert also scored and had an assist; Makenna Ivey scored; and additional assists were contribute­d by Tamara Biddle, Angel Quinn and Nayela Vasquez.

Arkansas High managed its nine goals on 33 shots on goal. AHS goalie Megan Holder had two saves in the shutout.

BASEBALL

Arkansas High 8, Genoa Central 3

GENOA, Ark.—Drake Browning tossed three innings, allowed two runs on three hits, walked one, struck out three and got the win as the Razorbacks defeated the Dragons.

Dylan Adcock was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, while teammates Nick Vaughn and Cody Adcock each had two hits. Browning was 1 for 2 at the dish with an RBI.

Cody Adcock, Austin Nix, and Matthew Mobley each added an RBI for Arkansas High.

Gage Gore threw four innings, scattered two hits, allowed a run that was not earned, walked one and struck out five for the Razorbacks.

Nashville 13, Prescott 0

PRESCOTT, Ark.—Colton Patterson collected four hits to lead the Scrappers to a shutout win over the Curley Wolves.

Jaydon Hostetler threw three innings and struck out three, while teammate Ty Gordon pitched two innings and struck out three for Nashville.

J.R. Middleton had three hits and 2 RBI for the Scrappers, Gordon had two hits, and Chris Willard drove in three runs.

GOLF

Tigers in sixth at regional

ROCKWALL, Texas—Matt Prieskorn shot a 76, and Texas High totaled a 315 in the first round of the Class 5A regional golf tournament at Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.

Highland Parks is in first place with a 289, and Scott Roden had the lowest individual score (67).

Will Patterson carded a 79, Camden Robertson and Cater Maneth each had an 80, and Nick Kane shot 85.

The tournament continues with round 2 today.

SOFTBALL

Angels 15, Superstars 10

The Angels (2-0) kept their undefeated season alive with a win over the Superstars (0-1) behind the defensive play of Jamal Trimble at third base and the game sealing hit by Kellen Griffin at Hobo Jungle Park in the Challenger League.

Justin Crye tacked on a pair of hits for the Superstars.

No Limits 12, Slammers 2

No Limits (1-1) came out on top in a dominant win over the Slammers (0-2) with a solid defensive game in the second game at Hobo Jungle Park in the Challenger League.
