Local event will feature chef Mark Anthony

The Complete Health Improvement Program, in association with the Texarkana Seventhday Adventist Church, will host a free event with celebrity chef Mark Anthony at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 3100 Pleasant Grove Road, Texarkana, Texas.

Anthony has his own cooking show on 3ABN worldwide television and has appeared on every major network. He has done these free cooking shows in every state in the country and has been a personal chef to celebrities Jack Nicklaus, Joan Jett, STYX, Journey, Jerry Brown and more.

Anthony has lost 80 pounds with a noticeable drop in cholesterol by going to a plant-based lifestyle.

The changes have kept him off the diabetic short list, he said.

He made this decision on lifestyle change while serving as an executive chef for the largest hospital operating system in the country. He was at his highest weight of 305 pounds.

“I noticed one common element to most of the patients’ conditions: They were almost all there for cholesterol-related problems. That is when I knew I’d better do something or end up being one of the people in this hospital. This is all about how to get healthy and stay healthy,” Anthony said.

Anthony cooks everything right in front of the crowd, teaching principles of healthy cooking while exploring the connection between body, mind and spirit.

Donations are accepted to help cover expenses. More about his work, as well as free recipes, is available at ChefMarkAnthony.com.
