CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a non-profit organizati­on, is in need of volunteers to help the abused and neglected children in an 8 county area in Texas and Arkansas. CASA volunteers speak up for a child in court, they are the voice that makes a difference in a child’s life. Volunteers get to know the children and everyone who is involved with the child. Domestic Violence Prevention Inc. needs caring and empathetic individual­s to work the hotline and at the Battered Women’s Shelter, administra­tive office, Resale Shop and outreach offices. Two volunteers are also needed to provide childcare during group meetings 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. every other Tuesday at the shelter.; and one to two volunteers to serve as a check-in workers for the Tuesday night group meeting 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the main office.
