Cheers & Jeers
CHEERS:
To Robby Robertson and the entire Parks and Recreation crew for their incredible job preparing for, as well as their hard work during the Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival. From preparing the grounds by filling in holes, setting up the stage, electricity, controlling ants and bees to directing parking for the festival attendees and vendors, to continually emptying trash receptacles and providing cleanups wherever need, the list goes on. The wineries and vendors couldn’t praise them enough saying they do not receive such royal treatment at any other festival. Texarkana is very fortunate to have this great group of people. Thanks to them, as well as the equally dedicated festival committee, the sponsors, volunteers and attendees, it was the most successful festival yet!—M. and C. V.H., T.A., Texarkana, Texas
CHEERS:
To James, his wife, and the unknown fellow who helped me recover my dignity from my fall at the Texas High graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 26. You were all in the right spot at the right moment and I am so grateful for the kindness you showed me! I am thankful that I wasn’t seriously injured … but I don’t think my ego will ever be the same! I can say for certain that falling at my current age is a lot different than when I was 17 and skating around at the skating rink! Thank you again!—J.S., Wake Village, Texas
