Dozen area ballplayers named to honor squad
North Lamar came away with four superlatives on the 14-4A All-District softball team, while LibertyEylau, Atlanta and Pairs nabbed one each.
The Lady Leopards earned Co-Coaching Staff of the Year along with North Lamar.
Alyssa Simmons of Atlanta was named Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year.
Reagan Richardson of North Lamar was the Most Valuable Player, teammate Jaycie Hall was the Newcomer of the Year, and Ashlyn Reavis earned Outstanding Defensive Player.
Pittsburg led the way with six first-team selections. Liberty-Eylau and North Lamar each had five players named to the first team. Pleasant Grove Atlanta each had three players selected.
Infielders Savannah Phelps, McKenzye Williamson, Kayla Norris and outfielders Keeley Norris and Tyrah Venable represented the Lady Leopards on the first team.
Outfielders Hanna Snyder and Kaylee Kelley along with flex player Presley Hargrove were chosen to the first team for the Lady Hawks.
Infielder Amanda Whatley, outfielder Devin Ulmer and utility player Kinsey Kelley represented Atlanta on the first team.
North Lamar’s Macy Richardson, Brooke Collard, Karsyn Iltis, McKayla Figueroa and Summer Andrews were given first team honors. Pittsburg’s Sydney Reynolds, Madison Sansom, Tori Henderson, McKenna Wood, Sydney Waldrep and Abby Hammonds made the first team.
Pleasant Grove, L-E and Atlanta each had three players named to the second team.
Kristen Key, Bre Jones and Emily Hilton made the second team for the Hawks.
The Leopards’ Karli Frazier, M.J. Coleman, and Victoria Foster were chosen to the second team, as were Atlanta’s Cydnee Wood, Gracie Smith and Daniela Arradondo.
