Mustangs collect four superlatives

Hughes Springs was well represented on the 14-3A All-District Baseball Team.

Alex Bruce was named the Player of the Year. Bo McEntire earned Offensive MVP, Riley McKinney was named Defensive MVP, and their skipper Brandon Green was selected Coach of the Year.

Josue Rae of Queen City and Seth Lathrop of Redwater are co-Pitcher of the Year, and Redwater’s Preston Davis collected the Newcomer of the Year honor.

Redwater’s Peyton Davis and Daniel Burns were selected to the first team, as were Hughes Springs’ Brady McEntire, Triston Hickey and Garrett Golden.

New Boston’s Jake Bobbitt, Bryce Green, Isaac Whittington and Branson Wilson were honored on the first team.

Other first team honorees were Queen City’s Bradley Norton, Kade Brooks, Easton Fincher and Matthew Davenport; Hooks’ Marquiz Estell and Tanner Pounds; and DeKalb’s Daulton Hanna.

Named to the second team for Hughes Springs were Harrison Reagan and Cooper Perry. Joining them were New Boston’s Stone Willaims, Kyle Atkinson and Tyler Strain.

Redwater’s Mason Robertson and Hayden Hackett and Daingerfield’s Tyler Luster, Flo Saucedo and Alexis Deleon made the second team.

Rounding out the second team were DeKalb’s Kole Dooley, Paul Pewitt’s Nick Garrett and Cross Holden, Hooks’ Carter Duncan and T.J. Krause and Queen City’s Nate Burton.
