Cheers & Jeers

-

CHEERS: “For God so love the world…” this includes homosexuals, but, “Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” (I Cor. 6:9-10) The modern day deception is, all are God’s children, not only physically, but spiritual also. Repenting of these sins is an absolute requirement, before one can be spiritually born-again. God then removes these labels we have been described by. As revealed in verse 11, to believers in God’s Word-Jesus, “And such WERE some of you…”—D.H.M., Texarkana, Ark.

JEERS: To the Texarkana Gazette Sports Staff. I am very disappointed that the staff of our local paper chose not to cover the Women’s College Softball playoffs or World Series games. I am a subscriber and read the Gazette regularly and have not seen any coverage regarding the outcomes of the Women’s Softball Division championships, Regionals, or Super-Regionals. As I write this the women are now in the second game of the final championship, and still no coverage other than the game times posted in the “Sports on TV” section. It really is pretty sad when you know that Texarkana is a softball town, with high school teams, local girls’ leagues, travel ball and even college showcase events. Yet, you provided no coverage even though the University of Arkansas Women’s softball made it to the Super-Regionals for the first time ever and hosted a Regional event. However, you have certainly covered the Men’s College Division playoffs, and Regional series. You can do better than this.—D.B., Texarkana, Texas
