Four area teachers are honored for exceptional service

-

Vyve Broadband has announced four Bowie County teachers as May teachers of the month. The program honors outstanding teachers in the communities the company serves who are chosen by New Boston, Maud, Hooks and DeKalb residents through an online voting process.

Teachers of the month are:

Anna Edmonds, kindergarten teacher at Oakview Primary School in New Boston

Erica Fouche, principal at Maud Elementary School

Jade Ruth, eighth-grade math teacher at Hooks Junior High School

Karla Stroman, art teacher at DeKalb High School

The Teacher of the Month program recognizes teachers who have gone above expectations to create an exceptional learning environment for their students.

“As the school year comes to a close for students, Vyve knows that the work continues for many teachers, and that’s what makes them so outstanding,” Diane Quennoz, Vyve senior vice president of marketing and customer experience, stated in a press release. “We feel it’s important to acknowledge and thank those teachers who go the extra mile to help their students succeed inside and outside the classroom.

“Whether they spent extra time to help a student understand a concept or were a listening ear to a student who needed to talk, these teachers deserve to be celebrated.”

May winners will be presented their awards in September, along with other teacher winners from the previous school year who have not yet been awarded.
