MARGARET B. ROBERTS PIRKEY

De Kalb, Texas- - Margaret B. Roberts Pirkey, 92, of De Kalb died Friday, June 15, 2018 at a local hospital after falling in her home.

Mrs. Pirkey “Miss Margaret”, was born in the White Rock community of Clarksville, Texas during the dust bowl days, New Years Eve, on December 31, 1925. She was a retired federal employee of Red River Army Depot, with 30+ years and Save Mart Grocery in De Kalb for 7 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Kalb. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dick W. Pirkey, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 sister-in-law and 2 brothersin-law.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dickie and Judy Pirkey of De Kalb, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, one brother, Jones Wayne Roberts of Sulphur Springs, two sisters, Nelda Crawford of Paris, Mary Kathryn and Pete Norris of Frisco.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Lydia Cemetery under the direction Bates Family Funeral Home, with Robby Bates officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. The family requests all memorials be made to the Lydia Cemetery Association, 2237 County Road 3310 South, De Kalb, Texas 75559.
