Duck Race scheduled for Aug. 18

CHRISTUS St. Michael’s Friends of the Foundation Great Texarkana Duck Race is slated for 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at Holiday Springs Water Park, 5501 Crossroads Parkway, Texarkana, Ark.

The owner of the winning duck will receive a 2018 Kia Forte LX. The second-place prize is a $1,000 gift card from Dillard’s. The owner of the third-place duck will receive a $1,000 gift certificate from Holiday Cleaners. A $500 Super 1 Foods gift card will be awarded for fourth place. The fifth-place prize is a 65 Tundra Yeti Cooler from Led-Well Machinery.

Ducks can be adopted for a donation of $5 each. Five ducks can be adopted for $25, with the sixth duck for free. Adoptions are available online at christusstmichaelfoundation.org or by calling Duck Central at 903-6147223 until 4:30 p.m. Aug. 17. Duck adoption papers can be obtained at Duck Central, St. Michael Health System, 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas.

Admission is free with the adoption of one duck from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. One minor will be admitted when accompanied by an adult who adopted a duck.

Only 3,000 will be admitted. Monkey Island and Splash Mountain will be open from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for family fun activities on race day.

Proceeds will benefit 3D mammography services at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Imaging Center.
