Those who love to shop will find locally owned and large chain stores in Texarkana that carry a variety of goods, from small, handmade treasures to large grills for your next barbecue.

Years ago, downtown Texarkana was the main hub of the city, with major department stores including Sears and the first Dillard’s.

While the chain stores have moved to Central Mall and other shopping centers along Interstate 30, several shops remain to serve those needing furniture, lighting, antiques, bicycles, men’s suits and more.

SHOPPING CENTERS

Gibson Heights, one of the most recent additions, features Luna Boutique, Excel ER, Rose Nails and Spa, Hopkins Icehouse, PhonePros, Style Studio/OMG Lulu and U.S. Pizza Co. It is on Gibson Lane near Richmond Road, north of Interstate 30.

Richmond Marketplac­e, at Richmond Road and Moores Lane, is another new addition to Texarkana’s shopping options. It includes Schlotzsky’s/Cinnabon, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, Pop Pop Shoppe, Little Caesar’s, Smallcakes and ShortCuts.

Summerhill Square, on the east side of Summerhill Road at West 40th Street, features a restaurant and many boutique shopping options. Julie’s Deli has soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The shopping center houses Gayle’s and Abby Gayle’s, Handbag Bazaar, Bossy Britches, The Rancher’s Wife, Carmichael’s Jewelry, Robin’s Nest Consignmen­t, Renaissanc­e Art Academy, The Couture Closet, Fur Cutz and Christophe­r’s Framing Accessorie­s Gallery.

Central Mall, just south of the interstate at 2400 Richmond Road, has been one of the city’s staple shopping centers since it opened in 1978. It features major chain department stores including Dillard’s, Bealls and JC Penney, along with Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, Claire’s, Hibbett Sports, American Eagle, Torrid and locally-owned Knucklehea­ds and Prissy Tails boutique. Several businesses line the service road between the mall and I-30, including Ulta Beauty, Books-A-Million, Michaels, Taco Bueno, Chili’s, Outback Steakhouse and Olive Garden. The area has many more restaurant­s, hotels and more.

Town West Shopping Center, across Richmond Road from Central Mall, features Albertson’s, Plato’s Closet, Party City, Hobby Lobby, Tuesday Morning, Four States Furniture, Alexander’s Jewelers, Sprint and Cricket wireless stores and more.

West Park Plaza, west of Richmond Road to the north of I-30 at 5001 W. Park Blvd., includes Osaka Japanese Steakhouse, Lafferty’s Home Center, Golf USA, Texarkana Pro Sound and Dogpatch Pet Shop. It can be accessed via University Avenue from the west or Guss Orr Drive to the east.

Richmond Park Center, in the 2800 block of Richmond Road, features several restaurant­s and specialty boutiques including Gusano’s Pizza, Fuji Kim’s Sushi and Grill, Smooth Fruit and Taste and See. Shops include Polished Arrow, Open Window Boutique, Dreidel home + sundry, Micah’s Jewelers, Merle Norman, Park Salon, Lena Nails and Spa and Fashion Cleaners.

Texarkana Pavilion, is at the northeast corner at I-30 and U.S. Highway 59. It is home to Cinemark; Lane Bryant; Old Navy; Burke’s outlet; Bed Bath & Beyond; Best Buy; Shoe Carnival; Chico’s; Kid to Kid; TJ Maxx; LifeWay Christian Store; iJump Texarkana trampoline park; Reggie’s Burgers, Dogs & Fries; Cold Stone Creamery; Jimmy John’s; and Uptown Cheapskate. It can be accessed from the interstate service road or Pavilion Parkway.

Richmond Ranch Shopping Center, just east of Texarkana Pavilion and stretching to Richmond Road, is one of the city’s largest shopping centers. It was built on pasturelan­d that held cattle. Sweet treats and eats to be found there include Starbucks Coffee, TCBY, Cici’s Pizza, Chick-Fil-A ,The Catch and Mrs. Field’s Cookies. Tenants also include Target, Home Depot, Boot Barn, Kirkland’s, Office Depot, PetSmart, Vision for Less, AT&T, Catherine’s, Sally Beauty Supply, Kohl’s, Payless ShoeSource, Dressin’ Gaudy and Leslie’s Pool Supplies. It can be accessed from Gibson Lane and Richmond Road.
