Texarkana College Foundation receives $20K grant
The Texarkana College Foundation was presented with $20,000 Monday from The Arconic Foundation for technological upgrades.
Money from the grant will purchase an AXIOM three-dimensional dual-direct printer, which will revolutionize learning for students and the community.
“The donation of cutting-edge technology will make a big impact on our students,” said Brandon Washington, TC dean of workforce. “We are so thankful for Arconic helping us upgrade our programs so that our graduates are trained and ready when they enter the workforce. ”
Katie Andrus, executive director of the TC Foundation, said this is the third year in a row that Arconic has made a grant to TC to upgrade the college’s technical training equipment.
“Arconic is a strong community workforce partner for Texarkana College,” Andrus said. “They recognize the importance of a skilled workforce and have supported our students and programs for many years.”
The primary goal of Arconic Foundation is to advance science, technology, engineering and math education and training worldwide, with a special emphasis on engaging and creating access for underrepresented and underserved groups.
Arconic Foundation is an independently endowed foundation and is the charitable arm of Arconic Inc.
