James Bowie edges Paul Pewitt in five sets at home

SIMMS, Texas—James Bowie defeated Paul Pewitt in a varsity contest that went five sets at home, 27-29, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-13.

Chloe Caddenhead led the Lady Pirates with 17 service points and eight digs. Sheridan Byram added seven kills for James Bowie.

Jacie Crocker led the Lady Brahmas with seven kills.

Pewitt defeated James Bowie in the junior varsity match, 25-16, 25-20.

Addison Hicks led the Lady Pirates with eight service points.

QC tops Maud

MAUD, Texas—Queen City fell to Maud on the road, 25-13, 26-24, 25-17.

Makenna Jones led the Lady Cards with five service points and 12 digs. Riley Murphy added eight kills and four blocks for Maud. Brianna Barnette led the Lady Cards defense with 15 digs.

Queen City defeated Maud in the first junior varsity match, 25-6, 25-15.

Avery Culpepper led the Lady Cards with three service points and Kaci Thomas paced the Lady Bulldogs with 14 service points.

QC defeated the Lady Cards in the second junior varsity match, 25-7, 25-20.

Kacy McCall led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 service points and Addison Roberts contribute­d seven service points for Maud.

SUBVARSITY

North Heights’ eighth grade squad defeated Camden Fairiew after two sets, 25-15, 25-17.

Ashlynn Bratton led the Lady Backs with 12 service points including three aces. Makayla Dodd added 14 points and two aces of her own.

North Heights increases to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Red Lick on Thursday.
