Texas High sweeps Royce City; PG defeats Pittsburg

ROYSE CITY, Texas— Texas High swept Royse City in a District 15-5A volleyball match, 27-25, 25-13, 25-18.

Olivia Lower led the Lady Tigers with 11 kills, 12 digs and eight service points.

Vicki Williams finished with 14 digs and 11 service points for Texas High, while Mia Wilson added 16 service points.

Katelyn Jordan ended the match with 13 assists and 11 service points for the Tigers.

The Tigers’ junior varsity squad fell to Royse City, 25-14, 25-18.

Ellison Davis led the Tigers with nine service points.

Texas High’s 9th grade squad fell to Royse City, 25-16, 25-23.

Carrigan Bush paced the Tigers with 12 service points.

Pleasant Grove sweeps Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Texas— Pleasant Grove defeated Pittsburg in three straight sets, 25-21, 25-11, 26-24.

Ella Nichols led the Lady Hawks with 14 service points and Macey Adams added 11 kills.

Sydney Hopkins finished with 10 digs and Kaylee Kelley contribute­d 10 assists for PG.

Macy Young ended with 12 assists for the Hawks.

PG defeated Pittsburg in the junior varsity match, 25-19, 25-13.

Ann Elise Lindsay paced the Hawks with 10 service points and Abby Davidson added nine service points.

PG defeated Pittsburg in the 9th grade match, 25-20, 23-25, 25-11.

Lucy Woodman led the Hawks with 15 service points and Addison Alexander contribute­d 12 service points.

Halli Meredith ended the match with 11 service points for Pleasant Grove.

Maud tops Clarksvill­e

MAUD, Texas—Maud swept Clarksvill­e Tuesday night in their varsity volleyball match, 25-12, 25-13, 25-23.

Makenna Jones led the Lady Cardinals with 24 service points, while teammate Riley Murphy added 14 kills and four blocks.

Kaitlyn Wells finished with 12 assists for Maud and Brianna Barnette chipped in 12 digs.

Madison Gill led Clarksvill­e with eight service points.

New Boston, Queen City split

QUEEN CITY, Texas— New Boston’s varsity squad swept Queen City Tuesday night at Bulldog Gym, 25-12, 25-15, 25-16.

Morgan McAlexande­r led the Lady Lions with 15 kills, while Grace Duffer added 18 assists and 13 service points.

Queen City defeated New Boston in the first junior varsity match, 25-12, 18-25, 25-22.

Brittney Myers led the Lions with 11 service points and Kaci Thomas paced the Lady Bulldogs with 12 service points.

Queen City swept New Boston in the second junior varsity match, 25-19, 25-20.

Jayden Smallwood finished with four service points for the Lions and Jade Whitehorn ended with eight service points for the Bulldogs.

Daingerfie­ld falls to Hughes Springs

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Hughes Springs swept Daingerfie­ld in their varsity volleyball match Tuesday night, 25-16, 25-17, 25-21.

Kiara Robinson led the Lady Tigers with five kills and three blockes, while Kayleigh Phillips chipped in 10 digs.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, traveling to Elysian Fields at 4:30 p.m.

TENNIS Arkansas High defeats Hot Springs, Magnolia

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.— Arkansas High defeated Magnolia and Hot Springs, in a Conference 5A tennis clash.

Nate Price defeated Hot Springs in boys singles, 8-2, while Taylor McCoy defeated the Trojans, 8-2.

Patrick Cook and Shawn Coleman defeated Hot Springs in boys doubles, 8-0.

Daylon Floyd and Nate Nix defeated the Trojans, 8-0.

Bryunna Brewer and Taylor Wilkerson defeated Hot Springs in girls doubles, 8-0.

Lauren Jones and Charleigh Wren defeated the Lady Trojans, 8-3.

Brewer and Wilkerson defeated Magnolia in girls doubles, 6-0, 6-3.

Wren and Jones defeated the Lady Panthers, 6-4, 6-4.
