Harmon leads PG to Homecoming win
Ben Harmon threw four touchdown passes in the first half, and Pleasant Grove shut out Tyler Chapel Hill, 49-0, on Homecoming at Hawk Stadium on Friday.
Harmon, who only played in the first half, connected on 8 of 12 passes for 236 yards.
Brett Walker caught a 32-yard pass from Harmon for the first score of the game. On the ensuing Bulldog possession, Tyler Kelley intercepted a pass and took it back 35 yards to give Pleasant Grove a 14-0 lead.
Shayne Nelson intercepted another pass for the Hawks, and Harmon ran the ball in from 4 yards out to make it 21-0.
After Chapel Hill was forced to punt, Jackson Cobb grabbed an 18-yard pass to give Pleasant Grove a 28-0 advantage. Cobb finished with four catches for 90 yards to lead the Hawks.
Pleasant Grove put 14 points on the board in the second quarter on an 81-yard pass to Sergio Rodriguez and a 21-yard Harmon pass to Cobb.
The Hawks went into the locker room with a 42-0 lead.
Pleasant Grove played mostly substitute players in the second half, and both teams agreed to let the clock run.
Will Cullipher punched the ball into the end zone from a yard out in the third quarter for the Hawks.
Pleasant Grove’s Reagan Adams was named Homecoming queen before the game.
