COACH JOSH GIBSON’S

COMMENTS: “We stepped back up for our community, and we had a sellout crowd on homecoming. I think the biggest thing we reaped from a great week of practice was belief in each other. Last year’s team believed that they could win every game. I told this group that we have to get to the same point. We have to believe that we can beat Carthage, believe that we can win a state championship, believe that we are going to win every game; and you can’t fake that. We had the best workout on Thursday that I’ve had in 17 years. There was growth, and I’m really proud of them.

“We have a lot of weapons in the passing game. Jackson Cobb got a couple of scores, Brett Walker got one, and so did Sergio. There are so many different kids that can pick each other up. I am proud of our whole defense. Anytime you can shut a team out, you have to have 11 kids playing solid defense together.”
