Curley Wolves lose halftime lead, fall to Smackover

PRESCOTT, Ark—Prescott lost its first game of the season 21-20 to Smackover on Friday night.

The Curley Wolves had a 13-point edge and all the momentum at the end of the first half.

In the third quarter the Buckaroos cut the lead down to six when Jaqueze Modica caught a 37-yard pass from Rashard Boone.

With 3:07 in the final frame, Greg Turner punched in a 28-yard dash to give Smackover a one-point lead and ultimately the game.

Prescott started strong scoring the first two touchdowns of the contest.

The first came from Ryan Johnson on a 15-yard trot. Alex George scored the second with a 40-yard run and Luis Rabadan kicked both of the extra points.

In the second quarter Johnson added another touch down run, this time from 13-yards out.

The Buckarooos lone score of the first half came from Turner, a 12-yard bolt with a kick by Harley Williams.

Johnson led the Curley Wolves with 16 carries for 119 yards and two TDs.

Harmony Grove 41, Horatio 0

HORATIO, Ark.–The Lions absorbed another thrashing, this time being stung by the Hornets 41-0.

The Hornet defense was stout, as they held the Lions to 122 total yards including -2 yards passing, and only 2.6 average yards a carry, meanwhile, the Hornet offense racked up 471 total yard which included 398 yards rushing.

Horatio had 2 100 yd rushers in the contest. Shaun Lucas had 125 yards on 6 carries with 2 TDs, and Xaylon Falls had 106 yards on 4 carries, and Damion Daniel also chipped in with 2 receptions for 73 yards and a touch down.

Despite losing two fumbles, the Hornets still managed to roll over the Lions in shutout fashion.

Fouke 34, Bismarck 14

FOUKE, Ark.—After what was a hotly contested first half of play, the Panthers used a strong, 20-point 2nd half to run away from the Lions during a 34-14 win. Quarterbac­k Hunter Lensdale led the way for the Panthers with 191 passing yards, 3 passing TDs, and 1 rushing TD. The Panther defense forced 3 turnovers, while turning the ball over twice themselves, however they still managed to race away to victory.
