CHRISTUS foundation will hold 21st annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 17

The CHRISTUS St. Michael Atlanta Foundation will hold the 21st annual Turkey Trot 5k and Community Thanksgivi­ng at 10 a.m. Nov. 17 at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Atlanta Outpatient Rehabilita­tion Center. The Community Thanksgivi­ng takes place immediatel­y after at St. Michael Hospital-Atlanta.

The 5k course will start and end at the St. Michael Atlanta Outpatient Rehabilita­tion Center located at 901 S William St., Atlanta, Texas. Late registrati­on will begin at 9 a.m. All participan­ts will receive a ticket to the Community Thanksgivi­ng Feast. Awards will also be announced at the feast.

New to the event this year is a course bounty. In addition to the $200 cash prize for the top male and female finishers, an additional $500 will be awarded if the top finisher beats the time from last year. The time for last year’s male winner was 17:39 and 26:13 for the female winner.

Additional prizes will be awarded to the top walker and the top three male and female finishers in the following age categories: 12 & under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.

The feast will include a turkey cook-off, pumpkin pie cook-off and all the traditiona­l Thanksgivi­ng treats. Tickets for the feast are $5 and can be purchased at the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, Price Hardware, and the St. Michael Atlanta Gift Shop.
