leads the ground attack with 130 rushing yards per game. McGowan, who has 22 scholarship offers after Texas A&M offered him last month, has rushed 80 times for 650 yards, three times eclipsing the century mark, and scored nine TDs. QB Dalton Dale is 44-of-72 passing for 612 yards, four interceptions and five touchdowns for Poteet, which had a bye two weeks ago. The Tigers are averaging 28.5 points and allowing 44.3 points per game, and they have lost three in a row. Stopping the run has been the
Achilles’ heel for the defense as teams are averaging 289 yards on the ground per game against Texas High. Despite the loss, last week’s 44 points was the highest output by the Tigers since a 47-35 win over Liberty-Eylau on Sept. 14. Senior QB Coltin Clack has completed 90 of 162 passes for 1,385 yards, 16 TDs and two interceptions. Myles Washington (18-478) and Kobe Webster (18-232) lead the team in receptions, with Chris Sutton (17-95), Mason Jones (14-194) and Kendall Reid (14194) also being big targets. FS Marquavius Fisher leads the team with 44 tackles.

COMMENTS: “Poteet hands the ball to the No. 1 running back in the nation, as a junior. They’ve got a really good nucleus of kids, and their offense starts with Seth McGowan. Their quarterback is a two-year starter and operates the offense well, and Cam Lampkin is a kid who plays both sides of the ball, at receiver and DB, who is committed to Utah State and is really solid.
“Defensively, their secondary is their strength; they’ve got five guys who work well together back there. Their offensive line does a really good job and are big. They’ve got some talented defensive linemen, but it’s their run game and the secondary that are really their strengths.”
