LAST WEEK: Pleasant Grove was edged by Carthage in the final seconds, 28-21. Pittsburg romped past Rusk, 53-24.

LAST YEAR: The Hawks rolled past the Pirates, 28-10.

GAME FACTS: This is the District 6-4A, Division II opener for both teams. Pleasant Grove and Pittsburg are tied, 9-9, in the all-time series. The Hawks are averaging 426.5 yards per game (299.5 rushing and 127 passing), while the Pirates are averaging 407 yards (214.3 passing and 192.7 rushing).
