Cheers & Jeers

-

CHEERS: To Texarkana College president James Henry Russell for the outstanding job he has done in turning around such an ailing institution. He has made the campus a stable, vibrant place to learn and work. As his departure is drawing near, I wish to thank him personally for being true to his word. He promised he would personally oversee repairs to the venerable obelisk clock tower in front of Palmer Memorial Library if it was the last thing he did. All four clock faces are now working wondrously. I commend both he and his staff for the repairs. It is proper and fitting that President Russell, who in times of great strife for the college, leaves this institution in fine order with only great times ahead. —B. S., Nash, Texas
