Texarkana Gazette - - METRO/STATE -

Patients seeking high-quality primary care have a new option with the addition of Dr. Priyal Patel to the CHRISTUS Trinity ClinicTexarkana team.

“Providing excellent, compassionate care to the people of this area is something we are all passionate about, and Dr. Patel fits perfectly with that vision,” said Dr. Brent Bennett, primary care operations chief at Trinity Clinic in Texarkana. “At CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, our philosophy is consistent and direct: We are dedicated to quality, compassionate care for the entire family. We offer you a medical home and work in partnership with you to maintain your health with preventive care and treatment of illnesses and injuries.

“When serious health problems strike, your primary care provider guides you to the appropriate specialty care.”

Patel joins the clinic after completing her residency in family medicine at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Texarkana and her medical degree at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.

Patel already has been treating local patients at CHRISTUS St. Michael during her residency and during her time moonlighting in the Ashdown Emergency Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Board of Family Medicine and has participated in Wild About Wellness and the MASH Summer Program in Texarkana.

“I believe it is important for everyone to establish a close working relationship with their primary care provider,” Patel said. “When patient and provider work together and communicate well, the results improve dramatically for the patients. They live healthier lives, and we are able to manage and even prevent many chronic or long-term conditions.

“I am excited to begin working at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic and continue my lifelong goal to serve patients in an area that is in need of these crucial primary care services.”

Patel will be seeing primary care patients in her office in the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic Urgent Care facility at 910 James Bowie Drive in New Boston, Texas. Patients can get more information or book appointments by calling 903-614-5950.
